Slow start punished in derby defeat as Sarries victorious

A poor and error strewn first half left our lads 5-23 down at the break and despite a spirited fightback the gap was just too much to bridge. Exeter Saracens were good value for their lead at the break and really should have led by more in all honesty, our sole try coming from our only entry in the red zone whilst the visitors spent large periods in our 22. The second period saw an improvement in play from the Topsham boys but where we were 1 from 1 in the scoring zone in the first half we were far from that in this forty. We enjoyed plenty of possession but for all our ball a mix of inaccuracy, sloppiness and good Sarries defence limited us to just the two tries. In the end the spoils went to Exeter Saracens and we were forced to settle for nothing on a frustrating day at the office.

Tries:
J.Heymans, D.Morris, N.Seal
